Branston was originally part of the parish of Burton and it was only in 1870 that it was created as a separate parish. The Parish Church of St Saviour was consecrated in 1870. Branston, is mainly residential, but its close proximity to the A38 makes it ideal for commuting. Branston Water Park is home to a wide variety of bird life. Around the lake a footpath takes you through an attractive wooded area to a picnic area and play facilities.
