Outwoods lies to the west of Burton-on-Trent and this area of former common land was in the 17th and 18th centuries the site of a very successful racecourse. Today, this pastime is just a matter of record. Outwoods is partly residential, although maintains a certain rural character and is where the Queens Hospital can be found.
